My Favorite Video on YouTube

OK Go, an American band from Illinois, is known for their quirky music videos (remember the treadmills, anyone?). This one is one of my favorite videos to watch on YouTube because of the elaborate maze of instruments set-up to interact with the car to play their song "Needing/Getting". This video debuted during the 2012 SuperBowl as an advertisement for Chevrolet. I appreciate the way OK Go always seems to think out of the box when it comes to creating their music videos.

I Do Not Have a Favorite Website

I do not have a favorite website.

How could I choose? I am the type of person who constantly has 20 tabs open in a web browser at any given time. Having said that, I have attempted for this post to select a site relative to blogging to share here.

Although in the past I have used various websites to blog and host my own content it is not something I've kept up unless required, such as for this course. Currently, I do not usually seek out blogs on my own. Most of the blogs I end up reading are because friends or people I follow have shared links to them on Facebook or other social media. For the purpose of this assignment though I have selected Mashable for my "favorite" blog. By just scrolling down the homepage for a few seconds I have found several articles of interest. Hopefully you will too!

Introduction

Hello,

My name is Amber Dees. I am a senior at the University of West Georgia majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in Film and Media Arts and minoring in Marketing. Originally, I began college at Gordon State College but transferred to UWG Fall 2012. I am from Meriwether County, Georgia. Hobbies of mine include music, especially playing guitar, and traveling.

The social media applications I currently participate the most in include: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter. After upgrading to a smartphone last year I have also used applications such as Snapchat, Pandora, Spotify and Foursquare to name a few more. Compared to five years ago, in 2009 my primary social media outlet was Facebook and possibly still Myspace. I was somewhat active in a few message boards about music and occasionally kept a blog.

There have certainly been multiple evolutions in the way people connect via social media. It will be interesting to see what comes next.
